Cygnets Art School
branding update | web design
Cygnets Art School is a national art class franchise for children from the ages of five up. Having revently changed owners, and with plans for big growth – their CEO Andy approached me for a brand refresh and web redesign and platform move (they were previously on WIX)
Brand wise – they wanted to keep their core colours and logo design – but also wanted it to feel more professional and keyed into their main clientele. I tidied up the main logo, added secondary logos and marks to make a full logo suite and introduced new fonts to give it all a more elevated feel. I also adjusted their primary colours to give the brand more of a grown up, arty feel and added a few more tones into their palette to liven up the brand across their print and digital presence.
Web wise – we moved to wordpress – which gave them inifinitely more choice design wise and way more options for future growth. The design feels playful and arty but also slick and professional, and the use of video and animation throughout creates a wonderfully interactive feel that echos the creativity that Cygnet’s offers its students.
As a franchise – the site needs to work well for over 30 (and growing) business owners – so it was important to give each franchisee real visibility on the site. We used robust class finder programming so users could locate the branch nearest them and each franchisee has their own unique page with the ability to integrate their own mailing list and contact form.
The project included two more websites – one dedicated to promorting the franchisee opportunity and one dedicated to the Annual National Art Competition that Cygnet’s hosts. Go and have a look and all three and see what you think!
